Is Dermaplaning the same as shaving your face? 

The answer is No! Dermaplaning is a professional medical non invasive procedure which is done with a sharp surgical blade. Unlike razors bought over counter which are dull are only meant to remove "the hair only" not providing any exfoliation benefit neither treat pigmentation, fine lines or wrinkles.

Razors over the counter pull the hair and are unsanitary which can spread more bacteria across the face and worsen breakouts.

Who is the best candidate for Dermaplaning?

It is great for most skin types, safe for pregnant women and anyone with unwanted facial hair.

Contraindications

Anyone who suffers from diabetes, active breakouts or cystic acne, rosacea, sunburn or right after a chemical peel or those taking blood thinners.

What do I expect after my Dermaplaning session?

You might experience tingling and sensitivity that will last 48 hours, redness in some areas of the face, small white bumps that will clear in 48 hours. Most clients do not experience this.

After Care

  • No direct sun exposure especially the next 24 hours
  • No sauna or bathhouse for 24 hours
  • No gym for 24 hours
  • No swimming for 24 hours
  • Do not use retinol for at least 2 weeks
  • Do not use salicylic or glycolic acid for 1 week
  • Do not do any peels for 4 weeks
  • Do apply peptide serums and hydrating serums
  • Do not use makeup for 24 hours
  • Do use mineral sunscreen
